1.negative review: http://sfbay.ca/2014/03/23/divergent-fails-book-to-film-translation/
positive review: http://cinema-crazed.com/blog/2014/08/01/divergent-2014-dvddigital/

2. Both reviewers are critiquing the Divergent movie, which was based off the book by Veronica Roth.

3. The reviewer in the negative article feels the movie was too Hollywood commercial and thought it really lacked any wow factor, as for the positive article, the reviewer provided criticism on details of the movie but overall thought fondly of the movie as a whole.

4. The negative reviewer provided facts like Divergent is simply a attempt at duplicating the Hunger Games, and and they inserted their opinion of the combat scenes being "idiotic". The writer of the positive review gave more in depth facts about the plot and characters and gave their opinion about the movie "It’s not at all as intelligent as it thinks it is, but it’s a pretty solid epic all things considered."

5. I agree with the negative reviewers opinion because I saw the movie and I agree with the points they presented

(Written editorial- Election reflections: our views http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2014/11/05/election-campaign-2014-obama-republicans-turnout-editorials-debates/18550423/)
(Editorial cartoon-
)

1. The written editorial is about the results of the 2014 election (the Republican Party gaining majority in the Senate) the decreasing number of voters that voted this year. The editorial cartoon is about the conflicting parties of Tom Tillis (Republican Majority Leader) and Obama (Democratic President) and the  conflict of weather Congress will be able to pass bills and get things done due to partisanship.

2. Each editorial represented their topic by explaining the results of the 2014 election. Neither appear to take any particular political sides, however the written editorial explains more so about the logistics of the election, and the cartoon shows the political partisanship as a result of the election.

3. The editorial carton and written editorial are alike in that they both acknowledge the tension  between parties due to the recent election. They differ in that the carton is focusing more on the repercussions of the election and future action in legislature, as where the written editorial focuses more on the election itself, giving statistics of voter turn out and percentages of the voting results.

4. I think the cartoon is more effective in proving a point because it sums up the results of the election in fewer words and it explains the political situation more effectively because the article provides more statistics of the election.

5. The benefits of drawing an editorial carton vs. writing an editorial is that pictures are easier for many people to understand and they grab your attention faster than a regular article could. Drawbacks of a cartoon opposed to writing an editorial is that you have less space to write information and fully elaborate on the subject.

Bringing back the bucket hat?

Bucket hats were a booming trend in the 80's and 90's among rappers and celebrities alike, but could they be making a comeback in 2014? Originally, the floppy headwear was only seen on the heads of fishermen and vacation beach goers, but in 1979 the debut of the bucket hat in Big Bank Hank's music video set the precedent for the fashion staple in the music industry.
Hip hop icons such as Earl Sweatshirt, Kid Cudi, and Schoolboy Q can be attributed for keeping the trend alive today. Costing upwards of $30 and stylized anyway you can imagine, celebrity style clearly gives bucket hats two thumbs up, but people in the real world have various opinions.
Bucket hats can be seen all around Northwestern, but 10th grader Janaija Beckham is not on board. "I find them unappealing, because the design is stupid to me" Beckham responds when asked her opinion. On the contrary, Jailene Rubio replies with "They're cute" and claims they're so popular nowadays "because the type of clothing in the 90's is coming back."
Thought not for everyone, bucket hats have indeed deemed themselves trend worthy in 2014, and will most likely continue on for years to come.

Schoolboy Q (pictured left) sports a tie dye bucket hat at a radio station with Funkmaster Flex.

Robert Kincade, a doctor at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento, California, preforms surgery on the doctor that delivered him 45 years ago, Jim Affleck. Before the open heart surgery, Affleck mentioned he had delivered babies at Sutter, also where Kincade had been born. After some research Kincade discovered it was in fact Affleck's signature on his birth certificate.

Informational:

Obesity is an ongoing epidemic in America, primarily due to one factor: sugar. Food manufacturers make it easy for the average person to consume too much sugar due to the many different names it's listed as, and being measured in grams as opposed to the more commonly understood, teaspoons. A simple step anyone can take to begin eating healthier, is understanding what's in your food adn reading nutrition labels.

Weight loss is something everyone wishes for, but most people aren't very successful in.
Contrary to the popular belief, the "cheat day" can be something hindering you from loosing weight. The ever-so-common 7 day diets, are unfortunately another thing that don't help loose weight in an effective healthy way. Last but not least, don't blame others for supplying unhealthy food, because ultimately the only one responsible for what you eat is you.
